Reputable advertisers and platforms should avoid and guard against pixel stuffing to ensure transparent and accurate measurement.

What Are Email Retargeting Pixels?

Email retargeting pixels are small image files embedded in emails. When the email is opened, the pixel fires and sends back data about the recipient’s engagement — like whether and when the email was opened.

Unlike website pixels, these are focused on email open behavior rather than on-site actions. Email pixels can help marketers trigger follow-up actions or better understand recipient interest, but they may be blocked by some email clients and privacy tools.
